Regrouping is Reorganizing!
Organizing is not just for closets, drawers cabinets.
It's for our heads and our calendars as well.
Is this a a picture of how you feel when you can't do what you want to do? When your plans and goals fall apart! I can relate.
What can we do to break the mood and salvage something ?
REGROUP AND RETHINK!!
It is said that you should write what you know, and today I knew frustration and disappointment.
The weather was the nicest day in a week.
It was the first day of doing in-home dialysis and I thought we would be done very early afternoon.
I had plans to get to finally get to some errands, do some food shopping and make a nice dinner for my husband and myself and relax , celebrating our milestone achievement.
The procedure went smoothly but took much longer than we had anticipated.
I watched as the day was slipped away from me. I never even got to go outside.
What did I do?
I acknowledged silently that nothing was going to go as planned, talking myself down, as it were.
I mentally reorganized my calendar:
What could still get done tomorrow or the next day without any serious consequences?
Took advantage of a "break" in time to call to reschedule an appointment so that it wouldn't get "lost in the shuffle."
What was really so important that not getting to it was worth staying frustrated and anxious?
I realized that I had greater expectations for the day and had set myself up for disappointment. I forgot to focus on what was really important.
So how does this relate to organizing and decluttering?
